FACTORY-DIRECTHOMES OFFERS FANTASTIC OPPORTUNITIES:

Single Family and Multi Family Rental Market

Ideal for Mississippi & Louisiana Storm Recovery

A recently released report indicates that the most severely affectedHousing markets along the Mississippi Gulf Cost were the multifamily rental market, with almost 70 percent of the units damaged or destroyed. About one-half of the single-family residences, both owned and rented, were affected and about 20 to 25 percent of those "moderate to severe." The manufactured housing industry fared a bit better, in that while 30 to 40 percent of the homes were damaged, the severity was far less than that of other submarkets.

The report by the Rand Corporation makes several other assessments,Indicating the speed of recovery was relatively slow in the beginning, with a spike of activity in the first and second quarter of 2006, and then a slowdown in the second half of the year. The analysis also reveals that the permit activity is highest for single-family residences, and then also higher for moderately damaged homes over severely damaged homes.

Most importantly, the study concludes that the rebuilding and recovery for the housing sector must be contextualized within the overall affectKatrina had on the region's economy and infrastructure. And although the construction sector has geared up its capacity, there are signs that the sector's capacity may have peaked by the third quarter 2006. This may bode well for the Investor considering factory-built housings ability to substantially reduce overhead, local labor, material and time constraints of Site Built Construction.
